Tuesday, October 6 is Ohio Aerospace Day! The day will be recognized at the Ohio Statehouse Atrium in Columbus by a gathering of government, academic, and industry leaders. They’ll be discussing the future of the aerospace and aviation industry in Ohio. Agencies represented will include NASA, Wright Patterson Air Force Base, the Ohio Aerospace & Aviation Technical Committee (OAATC), and the Ohio Aerospace and Aviation Council (OAAC).
It’s an important day not only for the legislators and industry professionals meeting in Columbus, but also for all of us. While few of us anticipate traveling to space any time soon, research related to space exploration has led to countless innovations we use on a daily basis. And aviation continues to make our world more accessible and more dynamic than ever before, as well as driving economic growth regionally and nationally.
Recognizing these facts, we want to take this opportunity to honor all the professionals working in the industry. Additionally, we want to recognize the work of all those engineers, researchers, and builders who came before them. The innovators of today stand on the shoulders of those who came before them. Last but not least, we’d like to give a wink and a nod to two fellows who put us on the path to the amazing aerospace and aviation achievements we’ve witnessed, and those yet to come: our own Orville and Wilbur Wright. Please join us in honoring the work of all these people and celebrating the future of aerospace and aviation in Ohio and beyond.
